April (our doberman) was adopted April 2013.

Within 7 seconds of her arriving at the ranch, she had her first fresh chicken dinner!

Needless to say, this habit was not going to work since her job was to protect the ranch including the chickens.

Today, April shows off her skills when it comes to chickens, who she now regards as friends, but she does love popcorn.

She actually protects these chickens now.

Doberman's are one of the most intelligent dogs there are, with a sense of loyalty that cannot be described, it can only be experienced.

If you want a friend, that will ALWAYS be by your side, and you have and IMMENSE amount of time to devote, then here is your BFF.

Whew! Glad that's a video of a dog eating popcorn. For a minute there, I thought those blobs on the ground were leftovers from the "first chicken dinner!" Shocked

She's beautiful!

You'll have to admit, though, that she gets a little touchy when one of those protectees decides to go for one of her pieces of popcorn.

Yes, a bit touchy is very good. Her "anger management" classes have paid off. They would have been chicken noodles before.  They are natural hunters, so it takes a bit to rewire this natural instinct. But she now chases hawks and coyotes that threaten the chickens.

Somehow she has yet to learn that she cannot catch the hawks once airborne. That will be next video.
