Hopefully by now you've had a chance to drive past the prickly pear
mural that is nearly done, now exploding with color, located just
east of the Shoppin' Basket on College, expertly painted on the north
side of Charlotte Purl's Uncommon Goods building.
The mural is simply stunning, it's a must see for all who come to Coleman, pictures simply don't do it justice, but we'll try.
Shown here are some of the pictures as the mural took life.

The
first evening, a Wed night, Callina, the artist and her crew comprised of locals as well as her husband, worked from Dusk till
10:30., outlining the image using a projector and black spray paint.
These lines were later filled in with all the color and interpretation
that Callina had to offer.
Calina is from Rule Tx. Her husband is a B1 pilot currently stationed at Dyess.
She is also a behavioral analysis and works with children who have Autism.
You may already know her work as she is the artist that painted the Mural of the Roses Pray for Rosie in
Abilene.
Our 4-B economic board paid for half of the mural and
individual donations are being taken for the remainder. Donations can
be sent to Bonnie West at Bonneville. Please consider a donation, no amount is too small or too large.
Calina will return during the Prickly Pear Festival to finish up the
mural. Be sure to stop by and watch this beautiful work come in to its
full glory!
